Website designing generally begins by giving a business objective to the site. Other requirements include the decision of functionality, the determination of target audience and creating strategies. This occurs when content is loaded in bulk, which the web pages are not able to accommodate. In such a situation, you face a situation, where cutting down on the content is not quite possible. As an example, when you require some testimonials to be placed on your website and there is shortage of space on the testimonials page. But, if there is ample space available on the web pages, then you can include that space to cover the testimonials.
When it comes to smaller websites, the role of design is more important than that of content. The reason is that the amount of content to be added depends upon the design and layout of the website.
Content receives more importance when information is more important than design. This is especially true for larger websites. For larger websites, large amount of information requires to be handled. It can be loaded with both online and offline information that is always ready to be placed on the online platform. In such a case, more importance is given to content, which becomes the key factor in the designing and development process.
Designing a website around content ensures an improved and better experience for the user. But, it is important for a website designer to comprehend the website content along with its objective.
